Burwood is a suburb of Melbourne, Australia, in the state of Victoria. It is in the Local Government Area of the City of Whitehorse. The most prominent feature of the Burwood landscape is Building C (The Alfred Deakin Building) of Deakin University. The suburb is based around the Burwood Highway on which the Tram 75 runs, from Melbourne to Vermont South. The Allambie Reception Centre for juvenile offenders was located in Burwood. Burwood East is a suburb of Melbourne, Australia, in the state of Victoria.
Notably, Burwood East is home to one of the few remaining 24-hour Coles Supermarkets, and quite possibly the only 24-hour Kmart department store in Victoria, both found at Burwood Plaza (sometimes known as "Kmart Plaza") at the intersection of Burwood Highway and Blackburn Road, at the terminus of the tram route 75.
Burwood East is also home to the Nunawading Basketball Centre on Burwood Highway, as well as the Global Television Studios, in which Rove Live and Neighbours are filmed.
