Business Loop I-95 shield

A Business Loop Interstate is one of two types of Business Interstates (Business Spur being the other). It is sometimes referred to as a "green Interstate." Business Loops are marked with a green Interstate shield. The signs are marked with the word "Business" in the top quarter of the shield, where "Interstate" would go on a normal Interstate, and the route number of its parent, with the word "Loop" in small white letters above the number, in the bottom three-quarters of the shield.

Unlike 3-digit Interstate spurs, Business Loop Interstates can be repeated in the same state. They are usually routed through the downtown districts of a city, and touch their parent route at both ends.

A Business Loop can either be routed onto surface streets (like Green I-40 in Arizona and New Mexico), or onto freeways that were once designated as mainline Interstates themselves (such as the former I-85 in Greensboro, North Carolina and the former I-80 in Sacramento, California).
