Appearance

Buu is a magical pink creature created by wizards thousands of years ago. His appearance changes as his forms change throughout the saga, but he retains most of his trademark characteristics. When he first appears, he is extremely big and fat. As the saga progresses, he changes into a more slender, muscular fighter. Most of his body, such as his limbs and head, are spotted with small holes. These holes generate steam whenever Buu is angry, or in a bad mood. He has a tentacle on the top of his head, which he uses to change objects around him into a food of his liking. His ears are raised domes with a hole in them. His eyes are like that of a normal human, white with a black pupil, but they change when he becomes Super Buu, with solid black where the white normally would be with a white or red iris appearing in the middle. His body is extremely rubbery, enabling him to shape shift, or easily flex his way out of danger while fighting. His body can also liquefy, literally becoming a puddle of goo. When he absorbs a victim, his body takes on some of their characteristics.

Origin/History

Buu was created by the evil wizard Bibidi many millennia ago and was used to destroy worlds. He is the most powerful enemy faced by the Z Fighters in the series. He is also the final, major enemy that the Z-Fighters face before Dragon Ball Z ends. While incredibly powerful himself, Buu gets a great deal of his strength by absorbing others, adding his victims' power to his own. He has also killed nearly every character on Earth (the only characters to survive throughout the battles were Goku, Mr. Satan, Dende and Bee). Buu absorbs by either turning the victim into food and eating them, or covering the victim with his slime and consuming them. His true form is in the shape of a kid, known as Kid Buu. He is small and tiny, but not to be taken lightly. Kid Buu is the worst of all the Buus because in that form, he is pure evil and beyond reason. He would blow planets up without any consideration. Kid Buu terrorizes the Kaioshins

Prior to Buu getting sealed and left on the Earth, he and Bibidi wreaked havoc on numerous worlds. The two seemed unstoppable, as there was no one strong enough to stand up to Kid Buu and ward off Bibidi. The Z Fighters at the time were not even in existence. Buu attacked the Kaiôshin, the Gods of the universes. He killed North Kaioshin and West Kaioshin, and then proceeded to absorb South Kaioshin, becoming Huge Buu (Known sometimes as Buff Buu to fans). In his rampage he also destroyed the respective universes ruled over by those gods. East Kaioshin faced Buu on the sacred world Kaioshin-Kai to protect the East Universe (which contains the Earth's galaxy), and was outclassed. After nearly killing East Kaioshin, Dai Kaioshin stepped in to protect him. He failed and was absorbed, and Kid Buu became the obese Fat Buu, and was kinder and weaker due to Dai Kaioshin's good nature. Image File history File links 262-24. ... He had become increasingly difficult to control, but in his new form he had the mentality of a child. Bibidi took advantage of this and locked him inside a ball while traveling. While Bibidi was on his way to Earth, East Kaioshin attacked and killed him Knowing he was no match for Buu, East Kaioshin decided it was best for Buu to remain in his ball and have it buried deep below the Earth's surface, where no individual could ever reach it. Not knowing Bibidi had a son, East Kaioshin left Buu on Earth, and the thousands of years of inactivity drained the power from Buu. Babidi spent centuries searching for Buu and finally discovered him on Earth and proceeded to bury his spaceship to hide it from East Kaioshin. His new mission was to collect the energy from hundreds of people and give it to Buu, so he would be at his maximum when he was released. When the Z Fighters first confronted Buu, they saw "Majin Buu," or Fat Buu, the result of absorbing Dai Kaioshin.

Buu is Unleashed

The Z Fighters first heard about Buu at the World's Martial Arts Tournament from the fighter known as "Mr. Shin," who later turns out to be the East Kaioshin. They learn that Buu is trapped inside a magical ball and is about to be released by the evil wizard Babidi, son of Bibidi. In order for Buu to be released, Babidi needed large amounts of energy, and East Kaioshin leads Goku, Vegeta, and Gohan, the three strongest warriors whom he thought could stand up to Buu, off to an area where Babidi was supposed to reside, hoping to end the evil wizard's plan to release the seemingly unstoppable Buu. While there, Babidi sends several of his minions out to fight the Z Fighters as the energy they give off will empower Buu. Eventually he makes Vegeta one of his minions and an enormous battle between him and Goku ensues, which is more than enough to power-up Buu and release him. Bibidi's son, Babidi, figured out how to release Buu. Once released, Buu hardly seemed like a terrible villain, and more like a naughty child. His power was not to be underestimated though, as he seemed impervious to assault and could turn even powerful warriors like Dabura into harmless (and easily consumed) pieces of food. Even Vegeta's devastating self-destructing attack on Buu (Final Explosion) only momentarily harmed him. He was split into hundreds of miniature Buu's, which then recombined to become Buu again. Buu and Babidi wouldn't be going anywhere though, as Vegeta destroyed Babidi's spaceship just before he took on Buu. With hopes of terrorizing the universe halted temporarily, Babidi decided to slowly torture the Earth by destroying city after city and slaughtering millions of it's inhabitants with the aid of Buu. Good Buu tries to defeat Evil Buu in order to put an end to the wrath of Majin Buu

Babidi and Buu head for West City and the Z Fighters discover that the Dragon Radar is there and they need it for their plan to resurrect all of Buu's victims, and restore peace on Earth. Goku then confronts Babidi and Buu to buy some time for Trunks to obtain the radar. After a brief fight with Super Saiyan 3 Goku, Buu is told that there is an extremely strong fighter that will be ready to fight him in two days' time. Goku also tells Buu that he is way too skilled a fighter to be taking orders from Babidi and then teleports off. Babidi got fed up with Buu's childish behavior and went off on him for letting Goku escape. Eventually Buu became sick of Babidi's bossing him around and destroyed him. He then settled down and made a house outside a city and decided to wait two days for the fighter to show up. Hercule, the champion of the world, now confronts Buu to put a stop to his evil deeds, but instead, made friends with him, and even got Buu to promise to stop killing, and even adopted a puppy that he named Bee. Although he is able to successfully heal Hercule and Bee, Buu, torn between his desire for revenge and his promise, becomes frustrated to the point that he releases steam from his head pores which condenses into another Buu. The new Buu, Evil Buu, the pure evil part of Buu, is sickly skinny, drab grey and has the bulk of Majin Buu's power. He is a stark contrast to the now cleansed and pure good Mr. Buu (Buu-san), or as some fans call him, Fat Buu, who looks identical to Majin Buu. The two Buu's battle each other until Good Buu unleashes his candy converting beam on Evil Buu. Evil Buu simply reflects it right back. Good Buu is turned into a piece of chocolate and eaten by Evil Buu, resulting in Super Buu, a physically fit being who has a green tongue, and an annoying habit of cracking his neck. Super Buu is neutral when compared to the two extremes of Good Buu and Evil Buu; not very happy or grumpy, fat or emaciated, and with a tendency to become bored. However, he is more inclined towards evil, since it is that side of him which is in control. Super Buu is far more powerful than the original Majin Buu that was released by Babidi.

The Super Buus

Super Buu's first opponent was Gotenks. But before he faced him, he had to wait until Trunks and Goten were ready. As he waited, he killed all humans using his Genocide Attack. His wait to fight Gotenks was prolonged by Piccolo. Fearing that Buu would engulf the last remaining chance they had of defeating him, Piccolo offered 1 hour until Gotenks was ready. The impatient Buu mercifully surrenders to the offer, after Piccolo tells him that Mr. Satan's daughter wanted him to wait. The lingering echo of Fat Buu's memory lead Super Buu to accept the offer, but he added that if Gotenks was not present after one hour he would "kill everyone, even Mr. Satan's daughter." A Yamaha piccolo. ...

However, he got tired of waiting 30 minutes in. Knowing he had no other choice, Piccolo lured Buu to Gotenks, buying a little extra time by taking him on a roundabout route to the Room of Spirit and Time. There, he easily outclassed Gotenks in his normal and Super Saiyan states. Gotenks played up his desperation to make himself look cooler when he unleashed his full power. However Piccolo bought the ruse, and in an act of desperation he blew up the dimensional doorway. After being told that they were stuck forever, Buu becomes enraged at the lack of snacks. He cried out at the unfairness of the situation, and his scream was so powerful it blew a hole in the dimensional barrier, allowing Buu to escape (where he promptly wiped out the remaining heroes with his Henka Beam).

Gotenks transformed into a Super Saiyan 3 and reproduced Buu's scream in order to escape, where he promptly faced off with Buu. As a Super Saiyan 3, Gotenks was now an even match for Super Buu, but the energy drain on the fusion warrior was too much to support for long. After Gotenks defused, and the new Mystic Gohan returned, Super Buu realized he was totally outclassed by Gohan. As a result, he then went through several stages of increasing power to defeat his enemies. He first absorbed Piccolo and Gotenks, becoming Super Buu w/Gotenks and Piccolo. Super Buu was even more powerful than Mystic Gohan, and badly beat him up. Buu would've destroyed both him and Earth if Goku didn't show up and interfere with his plans for total annihilation. After a quick and seemingly effortless fight with Goku, Buu lost a tremendous amount of his strength due to Gotenks' defusion. As a result, he reverted to a Piccolo form. Realizing how much power he lost, and what could happen if he remained like that, Buu, in desperation, quickly absorbed Gohan. Because Gohan was in his powered up Mystic Form, this absorption resulted in the insanely strong Super Buu w/Gohan. Goku's plan to fuse with Gohan using the Potara earrings from the Elder Kai was now impossible. Realizing that Buu's new strength was too colossal for him to even think about challenging, Goku desperately searched for a new partner to fuse with. The new Super Buu, feeling how strong he has become, and knowing that Goku was no longer a threat, gave him one chance: He gave him 5 seconds to fuse with someone, and then he would destroy him. Unfortunately for Goku, Hercule and Dende were the only two options he had. As Buu counted up to 4, Goku had no choice, and was about to fuse with Hercule. Just as Buu finished counting, and began to charge, Goku used instant transmission to get to Vegeta's location. When Goku arrives, he greeted Vegeta and tells him to fuse with him to stop Buu. Vegeta's conflict with Goku was a never ending cycle, and it got in the way of Vegeta accepting Goku's proposal. As Goku desperately encourages Vegeta to fuse with him, Buu shows up. After a short dialogue between the three, Vegeta attempts a first attack. Embarrassingly he fails. He and Goku temporarily team up on Buu, but none of their attacks could even flinch him. As Buu was coming down with a final blow, Vegeta was motivated enough by Buu's awesome power, and knowledge he gained from Goku that Buu is responsible for the deaths of all the humans, including Bulma his wife, and Trunks his Saiyan son. Vegeta and Goku then used the Potara earrings and became Vegetto. Vegetto, or Vegito, is a fictional character in the Dragon Ball manga and Dragon Ball Z anime. ...

Vegetto was far stronger than any other warrior, including Buu himself, who was bested at every move. Vegetto could have destroyed Buu outright, but saw an opportunity instead; to rescue all his friends and family who had been absorbed by Buu. After being beaten and humiliated, Buu went into a rage and transformed Vegetto into a coffee-flavored jawbreaker with his Henka Beam. Unwittingly changing him into what was likely his most dangerous form. He still retained his ability to fight and every ounce of his tremendous power but was far to small to be hit by any of Buu’s attacks. After finding himself beaten again, Buu had no choice but to transform Vegetto back into his Saiyan form. Buu resigned himself to the fact that he was no match for Vegetto, but soon realized he didn’t have to kill him to win, but could absorb him as he had done with so many others. Buu distracted the fighter long enough for his severed head tentacle to envelope Vegetto and absorb him into his body, which was exactly what Veggeto had been waiting for.

Vegetto, or Vegito, is a fictional character in the Dragon Ball manga and Dragon Ball Z anime. ...

Inside Buu

Before he was completely absorbed, Vegetto managed to throw up a ki shield around himself. The trick kept his paramount power from being incorporated into Buu’s entirety. Even though the Kaioshin's Potara Fusion is permanent, once inside Buu, his stomach acid reversed the fusion, splitting Vegetto back into Goku and Vegeta. As soon as they were individuals again the two Saiyans set out on their mission to find their absorbed comrades. While traveling in his body they discovered and fought doppelganger versions of Gotenks, Gohan and Piccolo. They proved too much for Goku and Vegeta until they were turned into cupcakes while Buu’s mind was entranced by the desserts in the window of a nearby shop. Eventually, the two found pods containing Buu’s victims, they soon freed Mystic Gohan, Goten, Trunks and Piccolo, draining a colossal amount of his power, reverting him back to Super Buu. Realizing something was wrong; Buu magically entered his own body.

While inside, he encoutered Goku and Vegeta, even though he was now only Super Buu, he was still too powerful for either Saiyan. Buu was about to absorb Vegeta, but Goku interrupted and blasted him. Buu then turned his attentions and attacked Goku. However, Vegeta came to his senses and realized that Fat Buu was still a part of Super Buu. Vegeta threatened to tear Fat Buu's pod from inside Super Buu who pleaded with the Saiyan prince to stop, saying that he would no longer be himself, but was denied. Vegeta ripped Fat Buu’s pod from Super Buu, and he began to transform yet again. Goku and Vegeta realized the imminent malfunction within Buu and fled his body with their sons and Piccolo. Severing Fat Buu had cleansed him of the “dilutions” of the South Kaioshin and Dai Kaioshin, returning Buu to his true form.

Kid Buu

Removing the absorbed Fat Buu caused Buu to revert to his original form, Kid Buu. Kid Buu appears to be a miniature version of Super Buu. He was an unrepentant sociopath who lived to destroy and did not possess reasoning. He was maliciously destructive, with no remorse or conscience. He would sooner destroy all planetary bodies in the universe and be alone with nothing to do than stop to think. This version of Buu's power was completely undiluted by good, or a need to communicate civilly. This is actually Buu's original form, able to generate ki and regenerate his body at a much faster speed than any of the others (and was completely beyond reason), making this the most feared (but not the strongest) form out of all his others.

Immediately after coming to his senses after his reversion, Kid Buu made a huge energy ball and destroyed Earth in a matter of seconds and only Goku, Vegeta, Dende, Hercule and Bee escaped with Kibitokai's help. After the Earth was destroyed, Kid Buu began to seek out Son Goku and Vegeta. Buu went from planet to planet, destroying each in mere seconds upon discovering the absence of the Saiyan warriors, sensing the energy levels of beings with power levels above average (Since Goku and Vegeta's power levels are far above average). Buu made a stop on the Grand Kai's planet, where many of the universe's greatest warriors reside after death to continue fighting and training. If they were to die here, they would be wiped from existence. Realizing the imminent danger, Goku and Vegeta powered up to lure Buu to them. Finally sensing their energy, Buu's attention was quickly diverted and he made his way to the planet of the Kai's. This is where Buu met up with both Son Goku and Vegeta in a final, epic confrontation.
Fat Buu appeared again during the Kid Buu and Goku fight, having been spat out when Kid Buu tried to attack Hercule. Fat Buu was able to distract Kid Buu for a considerable time, helping Goku gather energy for his Genki Dama (Spirit Bomb) from the Earth. However, he was completely dominated on the battle field. Hercule later convinced the people of Earth to give him the energy needed, and with this Son Goku successfully killed Majin Buu. After the defeat of Kid Buu, Fat Buu was able to lead a "normal" life with Hercule and Bee, once the Dragonballs were used to erase the Earthlings' memories of what he had done while evil.

The New Majin Buu

Ten years later, Kid Buu reappeared on Earth, in the form of a harmless, dark-skinned little boy from a poor village, going by the name of Uub. Uub travelled to Papaya Island to participate in the Tenkaichi Budokai in order to win the prize money that would greatly support his village. Unknown to Uub, Goku had been waiting for him since Kid Buu's defeat, as Goku had asked Kid Buu to come back as a good person. Hearing this, King Yemma of the Afterlife, who had been watching the Goku/Buu fight on a Pay Per View Television in his Check-In Station, made it happen, and Kid Buu was reincarnated as a good boy named Uub ( "Buu" spelt backwards). Goku asked Fat Buu to switch the entry balls so that Goku would be able to fight Uub in the first round. When their turn came, Uub was so nervous that Goku, in an attempt to draw out Uub's power, started provoking him with racist comments and insults toward him and his family. In Dragon Ball GT, Uub had a much larger role than in Dragon Ball Z, featuring in the beginning and in the Bebi saga. Unfortunately, Uub was defeated by the demented Tuffle Parasite Bebi when the young warrior challenged him in order to avenge Goku, who was thought slain at the time. Uub lost the fight, but, in one last ditch effort to kill Bebi, decided to complete himself by fusing with Fat Buu. Uub and Fat Buu combined themselves and formed Majuub (a good version of the complete Majin Buu). Majuub faced Bebi once again, and tried to use his candy converting beam on him. But, just as Fat Buu's evil counterpart had once done, Bebi simply bounced it back, turning Majuub into a harmless piece of chocolate which was then devoured by Bebi. Dragon Ball GT ) is the sequel to the anime Dragon Ball Z, but is the only series that is not based on a manga by Akira Toriyama. ... But this was not exactly the last of Uub, who did play a role in Bebi's destruction. During the final confrontation between Goku and Bebi, Uub was able to temporarily weaken Bebi by assualting him inside his body, giving Goku enough time to power up an attack that would send Bebi through the Sun. Uub, along with Buu, escaped from Bebi's body in time, and Uub played more roles in the Earth's Protection, but for these, he fought as Majuub.

Forms/Transformations

Buu has the most transformations of any character in Dragon Ball. Each of Buu's forms have been given specific names from various sources, but Buu is still Majin Buu. The names given below are simply nicknames given in the Japanese Daizenshuu and various videogames and other products. They are not "official" names, and serve only to help fans distinguish the different changes Majin Buu undergoes. The following are the forms or transformations of Buu:

Fat Buu
Fat Buu

The first time viewers are introduced to Buu, he is in this fat form, called Fat Buu. The Daizenshuu calls this form Majin Buu (Good). By the end of the series, after he reforms, he is simply called Mr. Buu, or Good Buu. He has the most alternate names of any Buu. Fat Buu is an obese fighter, that was created through the absorption of Dai Kaioshin. He was originally Kid Buu, which is Buu's original form. Fat Buu wears yellow boots and gloves, a purplish-blue cape, a black vest, and white pants. His eyes rarely ever open. He is the most peculiar of all the Buus, because he fights in such an unusual manner, often spouting steam from his pours and shouting "Pow! Pow! Pow! Ow! Ow! Ow!." He speaks in a childish falsetto and is the most naive of all the Buus, as he is shown to have little or no knowledge of anything around him. He often appears baffled, even by his own incredible powers. Because his evil counterpart, Evil Buu, is still a part of him, Fat Buu reamins a deadly enemy. He is far more powerful than a Super Saiyan 2. However, it is disputable as to whether or not he is stronger, or equal in strength to that of a Super Saiyan 3. According to his fight with Super Saiyan 3 Goku, Fat Buu is definitely not weaker. However, one can suggest that the two fighters are even. However, Goku later states that he could have defeated Fat Buu but refrained from doing so to give Goten and Trunks a chance. In any case, Fat Buu can easily rival a Super Saiyan 3. In an anime-only fight it was shown that Fat Buu easily exceeds Gotenks' power in his base form. How he would stand up to Super Saiyan Gotenks is unknown. Fat Buu is initially under the control of Babidi, but after enduring his annoyance for a while, Buu finally loses his temper and kills the small wizard.

Evil Buu
Evil Buu

This Buu came into existence when Fat Buu spat out all of the evil in his body. This side is called Evil Buu in the US dub and Majin Buu (Pure Evil) in the Daizenshuu. Evil Buu appears to have the bulk of Fat Buu's power which is mainly due to the fact that Fat Buu lost some of his original strength when it was diluted by Dai Kaioshin's innocence. He's much taller than Fat Buu, and is quite lengthy from being so skeletal. Evil Buu wears the same costume as Fat Buu, but his physical features are the polar opposite. His skin is dark gray, and his voice is very sinister; the second deepest voice of all the Buus. The most noticeable feature about Evil Buu is that he is incredibly emaciated. Evil Buu's ribs can often be seen during his fight with Fat Buu. Although he isn't pink like all the other Buus, he still has their basic special abilities, which include Regeneration, Henka Beam, etc. There isn't a huge increase in his power, he's just more evil and has a slight power advantage over Fat Buu. Evil Buu appears much more menacing than even Kid Buu, but unlike Kid Buu, he shows some remorse and can actually speak. Evil Buu fights Fat Buu, and eventually gains the upper hand by reflecting Fat Buu's Henka Beam right back at him. He eats Fat Buu, resulting in a much more powerful form. Super Buu
Super Buu

The first transformation of Buu seen by viewers is known as Super Buu. He is called Majin Buu (Evil) in the Daizenshuu. Buu gained this form as a result of Evil Buu consuming Good Buu or Fat Buu. Super Buu is tremendously more powerful than either Fat Buu or Evil Buu, completely outclassing every Z-Fighter on earth, even Gotenks, until he ascended to Super Saiyan 3. Super Buu is very tall, roughly 7 feet. The gloves that Good Buu and Evil Buu once wore are eliminated and replaced with black armbands. He has long white pants, and wears a different set of boots that are black and gripped. As a result of the fusion between the fat and skinny Buus, is body is now built with crisp muscles, making him the most muscular of all Buu's main forms. His eyes are pure black, save his irises, which are white at first, but became red when he was struck hard by Gotenks. Although he has the deepest voice of all Buu's incarnations he doesn't sound as sinister as Evil Buu. He is very impatient and craves fighting more than any other of Buu's forms. He has an insatiable desire to prove himself as the strongest fighter in existence. Super Buu regains the ability to sense any energy level around him (Kid Buu also shows this ability, implying that he lost it when he became Fat Buu). Unlike many Z-Warriors such as Gohan, Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, etc. who can all sense the closest power, Super Buu can feel any power around him. This gives him the chance to detect Gotenks and Piccolo hiding on Kamis Lookout. It also alerts him of Gohan's increased powerlevel, and Goku's energy reading. He first encountered Gotenks, the fusion of Trunks and Goten. Gotenks puts up a great fight, but he eventually de-fused. Super Buu then encountered Mystic Gohan, who was more powerful than himself and was badly beaten. As a result, Super Buu planned to absorb the power of Gotenks, and steal the mind of Piccolo. When he achieved these tasks, an even deadlier creation was born....

Super Buu w/Gotenks and Piccolo is Buu's second transformation. This is Buu's new form after absorbing both Gotenks and Piccolo. After taking on this form, he called himself Super Buu. At this point, Buu is once again the most powerful being in the universe. In this form, Buu's intelligence skyrockets and he now speaks with Piccolo's fluid eloquence. His thoughts are clearly expressed, unlike his previous form who often spoke clumisly, forcing others to try to decipher his meaning. Super Buu w/Gotenks and Piccolo has a lighter sounding voice than before making him appear much more "approachable" and at times almost charismatic. He also looks decidedly more human, gaining a nose and chin. Because Gotenks is his main power source, Buu receives many of his features. His upper body is no longer fully naked but is covered in the black and orange vest unique to the Fusion Dance. His head tentacle is a great deal longer than before, mimicing the exaggerated hair acquired while a Super Saiyan 3. Buu isn't quite as muscular as his most recent form, Super Buu, which may be due to the increase in length of Buu's body. He still retains many of his old features such as pink skin, bracers, white pants and black boots. His powerlevel is colossal, even dominating Mystic Gohan and Super Saiyan 3 Goku. However, he loses much of it when Gotenks defused within him. As a result, he transformed into a weaker form called...

Super Buu w/Piccolo is Buu's 3rd transformation. After Goten and Trunks' fusion wore off within him, Super Buu w/Gotenks and Piccolo reverted to this form. He is still as smart as before, if not smarter. The only physical difference between this Buu and the Buu former, is that this Buu gains Piccolo's white cape, as he is now his main power source. Everything else remains the same, even his long head tentacle. However, his strength is drastically decreased from losing Gotenks' fusion, which containted the multitude of his power. In a battle against Super Saiyan 3 Goku and Mystic Gohan, he would have been killed immediately. Fearing that Goku and Gohan would team up and destroy him, Buu developed yet another absorption plan, although this time his victim would be Gohan himself. Buu used a piece of his severed tentacle from Goku's disk to sneak up on and absorb Gohan. The result...

Super Buu w/Gohan is Buu's 4th, and possibly his most powerful transformation. He is more commonly known as Ultimate Buu, because he has absorbed the most fighters of any of his forms, and is strongly assumed to be Buu's most powerful, strategic, and creative form. Nevertheless, the price paid for Gohan’s devastating power was a decrease in his own evil, making him the “nicest” of all the Super Buus. There are many differences in this form, from his others. His upper body is now covered with Gohan's familiar orange and blue gi. His ears become more visible, his head tentacle grows longer and stretches wider. Although his voice is not quite as deep as his original Super form, he speaks more confidently than ever before. The last difference is his overriding power. Super Buu w/Gohan was about to crown himself the Supreme Being of the universe when Goku and Vegeta decided that since they could not defeat Buu single handedly, they should fuse into one using the Old Kaioshin's Potara Earrings. This fusion resulted in Vegetto. Even by Buu’s standards Vegetto's power was astonishing, and he soon realized he was outclassed, and resulting to turning Vegetto into candy in a vain attempt to defeat him. This failed however, but Buu was finally able to outmatch Vegetto by absorbing him. Unfortunately for Buu, Vegetto wanted this to happen. Thanks to the strange physics within Buu's body, when touched with his stomach acid Vegetto defused back to Goku and Vegeta. As a result, he did not transform. While within Buu; the Saiyans freed all of his absorbed victims which purified Buu of his modifications. The horrible transformation that resulted was called...

Kid Buu
Kid Buu

...Kid Buu is the meanest and most dangerous of all the Buus. The Daizenshuu calls this form Majin Buu (Genuine). Since every absorbed being within him has now been removed this is Buu's original form and final transformation. He is the by far the smallest of all Buu’s forms and is roughly a child version of Super Buu. He is exceedingly evil and utterly insane. Kid Buu is devoid of remorse or emotions beyond passionate childish glee at his own destruction, and is prone to throwing violent temper tantrums. The few lines he speaks are done in the same manner as Fat Buu, ("Me Buu, not you"). Note: Kid Buu only speaks words in the English version of the anime (like "Me Buu", "Squish You Like Bugs" or "Dum-Dums"), in the Japanese version he can only speak in gibberish (except when he appeared on Dai Kaio's planet--the only thing he said was "You've had it!"). Kid Buu’s evil is uncontrollable making him a danger to everyone and everything. His fast-paced regeneration, and ability to swiftly copy attacks, make him an extremely formidable foe to any fighter Super Saiyan or not. Kid Buu commits more atrocities than possibly any villain in Dragon Ball Z, such as: Destroying Earth, and numerous other planets right before the Z-Warriors very eyes. He beats up both Goku and Vegeta very badly; to the point they're in desperate need of help. Vegeta devises a plan to destroy Buu, by having Goku create the Super Spirit Bomb. Goku uses the attack, and vanquishes Buu forever. Image File history File links BuuStanding. ... Image File history File links BuuStanding. ...

Special Abilities

Buu has the widest array of Special Abilities in the whole series. His arsenal of attacks and magical abilities are just about limitless, making him an unpredictable yet immensely creative character. Buu performed many unique and powerful abilities. The following are Buu's own original attacks:

Henka Beam
Change Beam. Buu's most unusual and unique ability. Buu's head tentacle allows him to change objects around him into any food. Buu seems to have a ravenous apetite, and as a result is always hungry for food (more specifically Candy). This attack has been performed by 3 Buus: Fat Buu, Super Buu, and Super Buu w/Gohan. Fat Buu performed the attack the most, seeing as though he turned everyone he saw into candy. The Super Buu's did it to vanquish their enemies. Many people, such as Chi-Chi, Bulma, Videl, Kuririn, Android 18 and Marron, were killed this way. Once the attack has been used on an opponent, the only way for the food to change back is for Buu to do it himself. Vegetto was the only being ever to have been hit by this attack, and still be able to control himself while in the candy state. He would've stayed like that forever, unless Buu changed him back (which he did). His tentacle also allows him to perform other helpful tasks, such as healing others, or zapping them to another dimension.

Galaxy Ball
This attack was only performed by Super Buu w/Gohan. He created an enormous sphere of energy using his left palm, and enlarges its size for maximum damage. He performed this attack against Vegetto. Unfortunately for Buu, Vegetto's power was strong enough to kick the sphere back at him, but he quickly got out of the way before he is caught in the blast. The ball is tremendously powerful. Powerful enough to crack the Earth in two, and incinerate the two halves. The name "Galaxy Ball" is a fan-name, based on Buu saying (in the dub only), that this was the attack he used to destroy many galaxies. The full extent of this blast is unknown, however Dende stated it could split the Earth in two making it one of the most powerful energy blasts in the series.

Renzoku Kienzan
This is a sharp and flexible ability that was fiercely launched by Super Buu w/Gohan. While Buu's version is not specifically named in any English source, the English dub name for the Kienzan technique itself is Destructo Disc. Buu launches a tremendous amount of disks that slice through any inferior object or projectile. These disks are far more potent than any previously used in the series (i.e Kuririn's, Freeza's, etc), due to Buu's vast power in this stage. It should be noted that the only other character to use the Kienzan as a barrage was Kuririn while facing Freeza in his 2nd stage. However, Super Buu w/Gohan fired multiple disks at Goku and Vegeta's projectiles. His disks sliced right through their wave, and came flying at the two saiyans.
These are special abilities used by the characters in the Dragon Ball manga and anime. ...

Genocide Attack
One of the most severe attacks in Dragon Ball history. Known as the Special Human Genocide Attack in Japan and the Human Extinction Attack in the US, Super Buu uses this attack to vanquish almost all human life on Earth. Buu performs the attack by extending his left arm in the air, and palming it out. This produces billions of little beams of energy that seek out certain organisms with power levels. Buu targeted human beings, which the beam energies sought out. One by one they all killed the human beings. The only survivors were those with a high power level (the Z fighters for example). It's an extreme attack that is very unique to the series. Buu could've killed all life organisms, regardless of how strong they are, on the planet. But he was interested in fighting the stronger opponents, and as a result targeted only the weaklings. He spared many of the Z-Warriors while performing this attack, but eventually he ate them all. It is possible to dodge it if someone is quick and strong enough, as Tenshinhan, Chaozu and perhaps Android 17 did (speculatively, he isn't shown one way or the other, though having no ki signature he likely would not have triggered a lock anyway), being the strongest persons down on Earth at the time. Mr. Satan and Bee were not targets as the friendly Buu still had some control over Buu's body.
Tenshinhan (or Tien Shinhan in the English anime dub, but generally just Tien) is a fictional character from the manga Dragon Ball/Dragon Ball Z and the anime series Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z. Zenshin kara no Shyougeki Ha
Performed by Fat Buu, this attack is a core taker. Although it pales in comparison to Vegeta's Ultimate Final Skill (Final Explosion) attack, it's strong enough to incinerate anything caught in its path. Fat Buu performs this attack by holding his body tight with his arms. He begins to rapidly power up, releasing a strong pink aura around him. This aura grows in length and width. As it grows, Buu begins to slowly let go of his body. In time, Buu will let go of himself and scream out. The size of his aura will determine to damage inflicted by his explosion. Buu used this attack against Vegeta, which did manage to heavily injure the Saiyan. It is a powerful attack, that was only used once by Buu. While not specifically named in the manga or anime, it gets it's name from the official attack list in the 7th volume of the Daizenshuu. There is no equivolent English source, however Atari's English translation in the Budokai series of video games is Angry Explosion.

Self Destruct
This is Super Buu's version of the suicide technique seen earlier in the series (most notably by Chaozu and Cell). It differs from previous versions, because instead of an explosion, which is immediate, this attack ticks down to a countdown then explodes: in other words, a bomb. The veins in Super Buu's body starts to pulse, like a heart beat. He looks more sinister than before, as if he's excited about what he's about to do. When the veins in his body starts to pulse at faster rates, the explosion is imminent. His body then causes a massive explosion on impact. The false thing about this attack is that Super Buu's amazing regenerative powers make this attack non-lethal to himself. While most fighters would perish from blwoing themselves up, Buu (much like Cell before him) can regenerate from the tiniest scrap of DNA. Unlike Cell, Super Buu can regenarate even from ashes and smoke, meaning an attack like this poses no serious consequences for him. In essence, this attack was only performed to stall time. However, it is extremely powerful and will incinerate anything it touches. Like many of Buu's attacks it is not named in the series itself, only the Daizenshuu. In the US release of Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi it was translated as Revenge Death Bomber.
Chaozu in the Android Saga of Dragon Ball Z Chaozu (餃子, katakana チャオズ chaozu, Chaoz, pinyin jiǎo zi, Wade-Giles chiao-tzu) is a fictional character in the manga Dragon Ball/Dragon Ball Z and the anime Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z. Buu Ball
An attack first performed by Super Buu in his fight with Gotenks, after he escaped from the Room of Spirit and Time. When using this attack, Buu wraps his legs all the way around his body and then wraps his arms around his chest, to hold his legs in place, so that he forms a ball. He then launches himslef at his opponent at a very high speed, knocking the opponent over or forcing them to avoid him. The attck is powerful enough to do collateral damage to the surrounding environment, as Buu used it to completely destroy Kami's lookout. Not necessarily an attack designed to kill an opponent, because a fast opponent can easily avoid it. Used by Buu more as a way to do some damage to the surrounding environment, and as a source of fun.

Vanishing Ball
The powerful ki ball from Kid Buu, used to destroy earth. Kid Buu's evil ignited him to destroy whatever was around him. When he transformed back into this form, he was really angry. So angry, in fact, that his first move was to destroy Earth. Buu performed this attack multiple times on other planets in an attempt to find Goku and Vegeta. He extends his right arm up, and palms it out. He then begins to increase the ball's size and power, for maximum destruction. The ball is very similar to Super Buu w/Gohan's Galaxy Ball. However, it is stronger, as Goku stated it could annihilate a planet ten times the size of Earth. The name Vanishing Ball comes from the English versions of the Budokai series of video games. The name given in the Daizenshuu is Chikyuu Hokai no Ichigeki, literally meaning Destruction of Earth in One Attack.

Dimensional Warp
This ability is very dangerous to any fighter Buu faces. Buu is the only villain to perform this unique ability. Buu gets really angry, to the point his magic aura tears through dimensions. His physical features enhance, with his eyes becoming red, veins popping out his body, and his power immensely increases. The dimensions he forms could be as little as inside a house, to the outside of it. Or it could be something extremely dangerous as planet to planet. Only two Buus performed this ability: Super Buu, and Super Buu w/Gohan. Both Buus got very angry, but the difference is that Super Buu only got mad enough to tear a hole to escape the Room of Spirit and Time. In contrast, Super Buu w/Gohan got extremely angry because of Vegetto mocking him, to the point he was uncontrollable. He was about to tear open gateways to multiple dimensions. It was said by Rou Dai Kaioshin that if Buu continued he could destroy the entire Universe. Vegetto realized this possibility, and quickly stopped Buu by cracking his energy shield and knocking him into the ocean. Buu's power greatly increases with this ability, and he's almost invincible with the shield he puts up while performing the attack.

Plasma Ball
Super Buu w/Gohan generated this small yet destructive blast quite a lot. He even performed it while fighting Vegetto. This attack is very similar to Galaxy Ball, in the difference being size. Super Buu w/Gohan can use this small sphere of energy and destroy just about anything thats inferior to him. The advantage of this attack over the Galaxy Ball, is that this technique is more "portable" to use. Super Buu w/Gohan can easily charge and release the attack for quick damage. As small of an attack this may be, it can easily outclass combination attacks from even Goku and Vegeta. It does take time for Buu to prepare the attack, leaving him vulnerable against powerful opponents like Vegetto. Plasma Ball is a fan name, as no name is given within the series. The Daizenshuu lists the attack as Koukyuu Gata Kikou Ha. It should be noted that Kikou Ha means Energy Blast Wave, and so this is basically Buu's spin on the standard Ki blast.

Liquify
This is probably the most grotesque ability Buu has. This ability was performed by Super Buu and Super Buu w/Gohan. Buu's rubbery body enables him to liquify himself, and enter a host. Once within a host, Buu has almost total control over them. He can either strech himself in the host, therefore making them burst in an explosive manner, or he can stay within them and have them to his mercy. Super Buu performed this attack on one of the gunmen who caused his release. He continuously entered the gunman, rendering him powerless and exploded. Super Buu w/Gohan performed it on Vegetto. However, Vegetto's superior strength stopped Buu from taking over, and isolated Buu's liquid body. Vegetto found a way to control Buu within him. This ability is similar to Bebi's infiltration of the body. Though only Buu was seen entering his host with this bizarre feature. Buu's fluid body is unlimited in its own maleability, giving him the several abilities just from his body. Buu is nearly invincible just from his body.

Regeneration
Buu has the most sophisticated ability to regenerate his body. Unlike many regenerative characters within the series, such as Cell or Piccolo, Buu can regenerate the tiniest essence of himself. It can be any matter of himself, and he's instantly capable of coming back to life. Cell can only regenerate if his core is still in existence, and Piccolo can only regenerate if his head is intact, whereas Buu can be blown to small pieces, even into vapor, and still regenerate. It's a very sophisticated regenerative ability, making Buu extremely difficult to defeat. No matter how many pieces or how little there is of Buu when he is blown up, as long as there is something left of him, he's going to come back.

Piccolo is a fictional character from the manga Dragon Ball/Dragon Ball Z and animes Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT. Piccolo is a namekian and his background is quite convoluted. ...

Shape Shift/Body Manipulation
One of Buu's most annoying abilities while battling. Buu has the ability to shape shift and manipulate his body. His body is extremely rubbery, making him flexible and able to change shape and/or size. He has an incredible advantage with this ability, along with his regeneration, making him almost impossible to defeat. Characters such as Vegetto, Goku, Gotenks, or Gohan can inflict painful damage, or immediately cease Buu's manipulative abilities. Because these characters are stronger than Buu in some forms, they can hurt Buu very badly. However, Buu still has a distinct advantage with both this and his regenerative ability. Buu also uses this shapeshifting as a playful mocking and tends to anger his opponents this way. Buu is commonly regarded as the most childish and playful villain in the entire series. He performs multiple comedic stances and silly dances with his bendable body.

Absorption
This is the main technique Buu uses to increase his power. Unlike Cell, Buu's absorption is much more manipulative. Whereas Cell absorbs only with his tail, Buu absorbs his victim mainly through using any severed part of his body. Buu sneakily uses his disemboweled body part on the unsuspecting victim, then engulfs the unwary prey. He then pulls his engulfed victim towards him, fusing the two. Then Buu transforms, but in one case, the absorption of Vegetto, this was a failure due to Vegetto's adeptness at ki control. Evil Buu was the only one to do this by the Henka Beam by turning Fat Buu into chocolate then eating him, and thus turning himself into Super Buu. Fat Buu was the only one to be absorbed in that manner, probably due to the unique nature of Evil Buu eating Fat Buu, but more likely due to Evil Buu absorbing him by choice. Buu seems to prefer absorbing his victim using his body parts, maybe since it's sneaky and fun, which he enjoys.

Breath Fat Buu uses this attack to destroy cities. He draws in air and expands his body greatly, then let's out the breath. It is stronger than any hurricane and can uproot buidlings.

Breath Beam Return Used by Evil Buu. This seems similar to Fat Buu's breath ability. Evil Buu uses it in his fight with Fat Buu. When Fat Buu attempts to turn him into a cookie with his Henka Beam, Evil Buu blows a gust of air that reflects the attack back on its user.

Healing Technique This is Buu's ability to completely heal a person. Fat Buu is the only version of Buu seen doing this. He gave sight to a boy who was blind since birth, and healed Mr. Satan and Bee after they were shot. He cannot use this power to revive the dead, however- the intended recipient must still be alive. Mr. ...

Absorbed Abilities

Buu gains new abilities and techniques according to his absorbed victims. As a result, his arsenal of attacks are broader, and much more powerful. Depending on who Buu absorbs, and how powerful they were, Buu's own attacks along with his new absorbed abilities become much more powerful. The following are the absorbed abilities Buu gained:

Makankosappo
Gained from the absorbed Piccolo, Buu customizes the Makankosappo (or Special Beam Cannon in the US) making it more deadlier and far more narrow than how Piccolo himself uses it. Buu performs the attack in the same stance as Piccolo. First he points and places his right index and middle fingers on his forehead. He then gathers a tremendous amount of energy, then fires a swirling pointed arrow beam. It's exactly like Piccolo's Makankosappo, but it's far more powerful. It's also wider, pushing it's distance further than before. It's a very interesting ability Buu gained, as he did use it to punish Gohan. It was only performed once by Super Buu w/Gotenks and Piccolo, but further assumptions states that because Piccolo was still an absorbed being within him, Super Buu w/Gohan could also perform this ability.

Super Ghost Kamikaze Attack
Gained from the absorbed Gotenks, Buu receives yet another powerful attack. There are many differences with Buu's ghost. Like Gotenks, Buu's Ghosts resembles him. They look just like him, but are a smaller ghost like version. Buu gathers them by spitting them out like Gotenks did. He then sends them all on his opponent. Only 2 Buu's performed this attack: Super Buu w/Gotenks and Picollo, and Super Buu w/Gohan. Because both Buu's are more powerful than Gotenks, their ghosts inflict much more damage when touch. Since any physical contact with the ghost will result in immediate explosion, each Buu ghost have the same quantity value as Gotenks, but gains the power through Buu. According to Buu, this is one of his favorite attacks, as he liked the way Gotenks used it. But Buu also used them to launch Ki blasts, it was unseen if Gotenks could do the same.

Super Kamehameha
Gained from the absorbed Gohan, Buu used this attack only once while he was fighting Vegetto. Buu's version of the Super Kamehameha is pink, and his much more powerful than either Goku's or Mystic Gohan's version. Like Goku or Gohan, Buu prepares to fire the attack, by connecting his left arm with his right, forming a semi-circle to charge the blast. He then shouts out the words "Kaa-mehh-haa-mehh-haaa" just like his absorbed Gohan. The blast goes at quick distance, enabling perfect collision with it's target. He only performed it once, because it failed against Vegetto. This is one of the main receives when he absorbs Gohan, and he quickly puts it to use on Vegetto.

Galactica Donuts
Another gained technique from the absorbed Gotenks. Buu specializes this technique to make it much more effective than how Gotenks used it. Buu traps his enemy within a huge, or multi semi-circles, he fired. These circles hold the opponent in within their grasp, making it just about impossible to escape without precise timing. But whereas Gotenks used the attack to just trap his opponent, and play around with them, Buu traps his opponent, then gets ready to fire a Kamehameha wave at his trapped victim. If the blast connects, it reacts with the energy circles around the victim, inflicting potent damage. It can easily kill the opponent if the entire blast hit's them and not parts of the circle. Buu's Strength

Buu is considered the most powerful villain faced by the Z-Warriors before Dragon Ball GT begins, and even then he may be only outmatched by Omega Shenron, and SSJ4 Gogeta. However, these characters are part of the Dragonball GT series and therefore not considered canon. Because he goes through so many stages of increasing power, Buu is extremely powerful. . Although he doesn't move too fast, Buu did clearly show how fast he could be. In his fight with Mystic Gohan after absorbing Gotenks and Piccolo, Buu easily kept up with the amazingly fast Mystic Gohan.

Each of the Buus have their own unique strength. Many mistakenly believe that Super Buu w/Gohan is the most powerful form, but in the anime it is clearly stated that Kid Buu is the strongest. Super Buu w/Gohan is weaker because if Buu has a person much weaker than his absorbed, his power goes down instead of up, which leads to the creation of Fat Buu. Because Gohan, Goten, Trunks, Piccolo, and Mr. Buu, the people absorbed in Super Buu w/Gohan, are all much weaker than Kid Buu, they all brought his power down.

The different forms of Buu also have different regeneration speeds and abilities. Fat Buu regenerated from Vegeta's "Final Explosion" by forming each individual glob into a mini-buu, then collecting into five small buus, which then became the regular Fat Buu again, but Super Buu regenerated from Gotenks's "Super Ghost Kamikaze Attack" after being reduced to powder. Kid Buu regenerated from a planetary explosion in half the time Fat Buu regenated from Vegeta's Final Explosion. FUNimation stated that Kid Buu indeed is the strongest of all Buus, but no such claim has been made by the creator of Dragon Ball Z, Akira Toriyama.

Many of the Buus have clearly shown how strong they are, just by requiring fusions to defeat. Despite Buu's childish antics he was a capable fighter who seemed to possess an intuitive combat ability that let him match up to extremely well-trained martial artists.

Characteristics

Although he is the most powerful villain in Dragon Ball Z, Buu is also the most childish and playful of them all. His motives for his actions may be the silliest of reasons. He has no intentions of universal domination, such as Frieza had. Buu only thrives to destroy everything around him. He can get very serious at times, such as his fight with Vegetto, but for the most part he plays around quite a lot.

Freeza (FUNimations dub: Frieza), is a fictional character in the manga Dragon Ball/(US only: Dragon Ball Z) and the anime Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT. In the series, Freeza is the leader of an empire which spans at least seventy-nine planets, and likely many more. ...
