History

The Company

CA Scanline Gmbh. was founded in 1989 by Ruth Stefanie Stalf and Thomas Zauner. It has constantly been developing and has become the leader of Visual Effects for film and television movies within Germany. With their sister company Scan&Record35, they offer full film services for "digital lab", including scanning, grading and film recording. From the beginning, Scanline has specialized in internal software development to become competitive in the international world of visual effects. The inhouse software is continuously optimized and developed to adapt to production challenges. This enables Scanline to react quickly to every challenge a project presents. The combination of Scanline`s artistry and technology earned them worldwide recognition. Their photorealistic scenes for a dam breaking sequence and a airplane crash, competed with the most prestigious American visual effects companies at the international Siggraph`s visual effects awards.

Reaserch and Development

CA Scanline is also known worldwide for its software called "Flowlines". This software is the leading software for fluid simulation. It was first created for CA Scanline's exclusive use, but it became so important in the market that CA Scanline recently signed a contract with U.K's Moving Picture Company for MPC's use of Flowlines. This software has become so important that made CA Scanline one of the two leaders in the world in the fluid, water and fire sector.
