The CAA is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE) (new window) and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) (new window) as the only agency to accredit graduate education programs that provide entry-level professional preparation with a major emphasis in audiology and/or speech-language pathology.
There are four status classifications of accreditation utilized by the CAA, based on the evaluation of the extent to which an education program complies with the Standards for Accreditation.
The CAA awards initial accreditation for a maximum of 5 years, which is subject to annual review.
