The Council of European Professional Informatics Societies (CEPIS) is a non-profit organisation seeking to improve and promote high standards among Informatics Professionals in recognition of the impact that Informatics has on employment, business and society. CEPIS is comprised of 37 Member Societies across 33 European Countries, representing over 250,000 informatics professionals.

One of the goals of CEPIS is to be a leading organisation in the promotion and development of ICT Skills across Europe. Founded in October 2000, UPGRADE, is The European Journal for the Informatics Professional - a technical, independent, non-commercial, and freely distributed electronic publication.


UPGRADE appears bimonthly in English on www.upgrade-cepis.org (no printed edition is available). Its monographic section is also published in Spanish by Novática, our UPGRADE partner in Spain.


In UPGRADE outstanding international specialists cover research and technical developments of current or future interest.
