CFB/ASU Wainwright is a Canadian Forces Base/Area Support Unit located adjacent to the Town of Wainwright in Alberta, Canada. It is home to the Land Force Western Area Training Centre (WATC) and Canadian Manoeuvre Training Centre (CMTC). Commonly known as Camp Wainwright, it is the primary training location for the Army units from Western Canada. As of 2005, approximately 690 military and 300 civilian personnel work at the base. The transient military population averages over 1,000 soldiers at any given time, and in the summer it grows significantly, when hundreds of Reserve Force soldiers undertake training.
