It launched at 8am on 14 April 1993 when Founder, Managing Director and breakfast show host John Myers played "The Best" by Tina Turner as its first song. Originally CFM only broadcast from their Caldbeck site to Carlisle on 96.4 and Penrith on 102.5 FM until September 1995, when they also started transmitting to West Cumbria from their transmitter at Broughton Moor on 102.2 (Workington) and 103.4 FM (Whitehaven). The Caldbeck transmitting station is a broadcasting and telecommunications facility, situated close to the village of Caldbeck, in Cumbria, England (Grid Reference: NY299425). ...
