Decision CRTC 98-58 (818 words)
Following a Public Hearing in the National Capital Region on 15 December 1997, the Commission approves the application for a broadcasting licence for an English-language FM radio programming undertaking at New Liskeard on the frequency 104.5 MHz, channel 283B, with an effective radiated power of 10,000 watts.
The Commission also approves the licensees request for an exemption from the Commissions longstanding policy which requires that the level of hits broadcast by English-language commercial FM stations be less than 50% of all musical selections broadcast each week.
In support of this request, the licensee stated that it wishes to convert CJTT to the FM band so that it can offer a better service to its listeners.
