The CZ 2000 is prototype of assault rifle developed in Czechoslovakia. The project with codename LADA started in 1986 and finished in 1990. New rifle chambered for 5.45 x 39 mm M74 caliber was intended as replacement of Sa 58. During 1990-1991 the rifle was re-chambered to 5.56 × 45 mm NATO caliber and later renamed to CZ 2000. As of 2007, the project has been abandoned, though some rumours about a new assault rifle for Czech Army developed by Česká Zbrojovka can be heard, information whether it has any relationship to CZ 2000 or not is not available.
