McClain won her first Daytime Emmy in 1990 for "Outstanding Ingenue" on All My Children. In 2004, McClain won a Daytime Emmy Award for her portrayal of Rosanna on As the World Turns. With her departure from As The World Turns, there were largely unfounded rumors of her possibly returning to All My Children until the news broke in mid-December 2005 that Cady had signed a contract to return to the role of Dixie Cooney.
