Calder Freeway M79 is freeway linking Melbourne to Bendigo. Originally just a short spur of the Tullamarine Freeway linking Calder Highway in Keilor, it has been extended to Kyneton subsuming all the older Calder highway stretches. It continues beyond as Calder Highway A79 to Bendigo. The Victorian Government hopes the complete the duplication of the Calder Hwy from Melbourne to Bendigo by 2006.

  • Ravenswood South
  • Bendigo

Beyond Bendigo, it continues along the northwestern Victoria until finally reaching Mildura and Sturt Highway.

Harcourt is a small town located in a valley at the foot of Mt Alexander (741 m) in the Central Highlands of Victoria, 120 km north-west of Melbourne on the Calder Highway and 30 km south of Bendigo.
On the other side of the road, where the Midland and Calder Highways cross, is the Heritage Centre which has a display relating to the history of the apple industry, particularly as it relates to Harcourt.
