In the early hours of April 26, 1959, the CaledonEast Legion Hall burned to the ground.
The CaledonEast Community Memorial Hall was built in 1923 to commemorate the men who served in World War 1.
In June 2004, the Town of Caledon decided to move the memorial from its current location to a place of greater prominence, in front to the newly renovated Town of Caledon Administration Centre.
