Caledonia is a village located in Boone County, Illinois. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 199.


Geography

Caledonia is located at 42°22'4" North, 88°53'33" West (42.367850, -88.892538)1.


According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.4 km˛ (0.5 mi˛). 1.4 km˛ (0.5 mi˛) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.


Demographics

As of the census2 of 2000, there are 199 people, 71 households, and 54 families residing in the village. The population density is 145.0/km˛ (373.0/mi˛). There are 75 housing units at an average density of 54.6/km˛ (140.6/mi˛). The racial makeup of the village is 100.00% White, 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.


There are 71 households out of which 45.1% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 67.6% are married couples living together, 8.5% have a female householder with no husband present, and 23.9% are non-families. 18.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 11.3% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.80 and the average family size is 3.20.


In the village the population is spread out with 30.2% under the age of 18, 9.0% from 18 to 24, 32.7% from 25 to 44, 17.1% from 45 to 64, and 11.1% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 34 years. For every 100 females there are 103.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 98.6 males.
