The Calico Liberty is a semi-automatic rifle or pistol chambered for 9mm parabellum. It comes in two primary variations, a 50 round version and a 100 round version. These firearms have an unusual helical magazine that allows for a large number of rounds in a relatively compact and convenient package. The spent brass is discharged in an unusual fashion as well: downward, ahead of the trigger guard. This allows the brass to be reloaded easily, since it can be easily fitted with an effective brass catcher.
