Calico Light Weapon Systems were a company based in Bakersfield,California that developed the Calico weapons syatem. This was a complete system comprising of pistols, sub-machine guns and carbines, all notable for their high capacity helical magazines. The company went out of business due to poor military and law enforcement sales, and due to the Federal Assault Weapons Ban which limited civilian magazine capacity to ten rounds.
