California Costal National Monument is located in the U.S. state of California. Created by Presidential proclamation on January 11, 2000, the 1,500 acre (6.07 km²) monument is managed by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management, an agency within the U.S. Department of the Interior. The creation of the monument ensures the protection of all islets, reefs and rock outcroppings from the coast of California to a distance of 12 nautical miles (22.22 km), along the entire 840 mile (1,351 km) long California coastline.
