Camila Nogueria Román was born on 22 November 1936 in Vigo (Galiza), Spain and Member of the European Parliament in the parliamentary term from 1999 to 2004. His party, the Bloque Nacionalista Galego, was part of Democratic Party of the Peoples of Europe - European Free Alliance, DPPE-EFA which took part in the European-Federation-of-Green-Parties/European-Free-Alliance in the European Parliament.


Experinace: Industrial Engineering (1964). Graduate in economics (1975). Engineer, Citroën Hispania, Vigo (1964-1972). Projects and Development Director, Society for the Industrial Development of Galicia (SODIGA) (1973-1987).


Member of the executive, UPG/ANPG (1970-1977). Member of the executive, PSG-EG (1977-1996). Member of the executive, BNG (1996-1999).


Member of the municipal council of Vigo. Deputy in the Galician Regional Parliament.


Author of various publications on economics and politics in connection with the Galician Question. European deputy of the Bloque Nacionalista Galego, BNG (1999-2004)


In the European Parliament, Camilo Nogueira speaks in Portuguese and says that his language was already official in the EU, that is Portuguese. His posts with the European Parliament were:

  • Committee on Regional Policy, Transport and Tourism, Member
  • Committee on Constitutional Affairs, Substitute
  • Committee on Fisheries, Substitute
  • Delegation for relations with the United States, Member
