Camp Gordon is now known as Fort Gordon and plays a major role in training Signal Corps soldiers for the United States Army. Ft. Gordon has approximately 20,000 military and civilian employees and is a mainstay of the Augusta-Richmond County economy. In 1966-68 approximately 2,200 Signal Officers were trained at Ft.
