CIVIC works to document an accurate accounting of civilian damage and push for assistance from the US government for those harmed. In 2003, CIVIC organized 150 surveyors in Iraq to interview victims for detailed information about deaths, injuries, and property loss in an effort at that time avouched by the Guardian as the "most accurate survey" being conducted [1] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Campaign_for_Innocent_Victims_in_Conflict#endnote_Guardian). The previous year, the group finished a similar survey in Afghanistan.
