Campionato Nazionale Primavera - Trofeo Giacinto Facchetti (or simply Campionato Primavera) is an Italian football competition played for by youth teams (under 20) of all Serie A, all Serie B and 11 Serie C clubs. The first edition was held in the 1962-63 season but at that time there were two champions, due to the fact that Serie A and Serie B teams played in two different tournaments. Format
The 53 teams are initially divided into three groups of 13 teams each and one group of 14. The four highest ranked teams of each group (16 teams in total) qualify for the final knock-out stage. All games are played on a home/away basis, except the final.
