Candy Kong is a character of the Donkey Kong series. She first appeared in Donkey Kong Country for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. In the first Donkey Kong Country, she ran a save point for Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong. In the Game Boy Advance port, she ran a dance studio minigame. Candy Kong also appears in Donkey Kong 64 in this game, she provided instruments for DK & Co. to use against the Kremling Krew, even though she was very different from her original or usual appearance. Candy was also a regular on the Donkey Kong Country animated series as well. She was voiced by Joy Tanner. However, in the series, she looked completely different from the pink-clad blonde seen in the games. Also, on the show, she worked at the barrel factory run by Bluster Kong, her boss, who constantly hit on her. Candy sometimes had a goal of buying the factory. Donkey Kong Country is a computer-generated animated television series based on the successful Nintendo franchise Donkey Kong as portrayed in the Donkey Kong Country video game series by Rare.
The show begins by portraying Donkey Kong, a regular ape in the jungle who happens to stumble upon a magic coconut called the Crystal Coconut that summons (at Donkey's command) a pile of magic bananas.
Donkey Kong Country was one of the earlier television series to be computer-animated to match the artistic style of the Rare video game series, and garnished critical acclaim in France and Japan but only marginal success in the West.
