Cannibal Ox is a hip hop music duo from Harlem, New York City. Its members include Vast Aire and Vordul Mega (also known as Vordul Megallah). They are generally accompanied by prolific DJ, and third member of the duo, Cip-One. In 2001, they released their debut album, The Cold Vein, which drew critical acclaim for its profound lyrical content. The album has received comparisons to the 36 Chambers-era Wu-Tang Clan. Some argue that a large part of the album's success is due to producer El-P, who crafts a heavy-sounding and futuristic soundscape. Cannibal Ox is a part of the Definitive Jux record label; rumors say that before signing that deal, they turned down an offer for a record deal from fellow Harlem rapper Ma$e around the time of his Harlem World release.[citation needed] Image File history File links Cannibalox. ...
