Cannon was a detectiveseries which ran on CBS from 1971 to 1976. It starred William Conrad as the overweight detective Frank Cannon, who charged high fees to his well-to-do clients so that he could work for poorer clients at little or not charge. He also used it to indulge his high-priced lifestyle, which included maintenance on his Lincoln Continental, which was frequently wrecked.
Frank Cannon frequently crossed over to appear on Barnaby Jones.
Tommy Cannon was born Thomas Derbyshire on 27th June 1938 in Oldham.
Cannon and Ball were both welders before they became a comic duo.
They appeared on the television talent-spotting series 'Opportunity Knocks' as far back as 1968 but it wasn't until ten years later that they broke through into mainstream TV when they performed in Bruce Forsyth's Big Night in 1978.
