Cao Rui, ch.曹叡, py. cáo rùi, wg. Ts'ao-Jui (between 203 and 205-239) was the son of Cao Pi and the second emperor of the Kingdom of Wei. He is also known as the Emperor Ming of Wei, ch. 魏明帝, py. wèi míng dì, wg. Wei Ming_ti
He was the second son of the Chinese politician and poet CaoCao and was the first emperor and the real founder of the Kingdom of Wei (see Three Kingdoms).
Cao Pi was the eldest son of CaoCao and his concubine Lady Bien.
Cao Pi eventually succeeded CaoCao in 220 and within a year declared himself the first emperor of the Kingdom of Wei.
Born in 192, Cao Zhi was the third son of the powerful warlord CaoCao and Empress Bian.
Despite his failure in politics, Cao Zhi was hailed as one of the representatives of the poetic style of his time, together with his fatherCaoCao, his elder brother Cao Pi and several other poets.
