The centre is arguably inconveniently located as it is separated from the main shopping area of Cardiff's city centre. Built in the late 1980s, the centre was originally built to look vaguely Victorian, but this dated quickly. The centre later underwent a major refurbishment and remodel, getting rid of the food court (although there are still cafés upstairs) and making it look modern, stylish and contemporary.
