Captain Jack Harkness, also known as Captain Jack, is a fictional character played by John Barrowman in the long-running British science fiction television series Doctor Who. He is a time travelling 'agent' from the 51st Century on a journey to discover why his memory was wiped. The moment Harkness appeared to Rose she was instantly smitten by his charm. Processing an invisible Time/Spaceship and responsible for throwing the strange cylinder to Earth in London, 1941, he attempts to make the pair believe the vessel is a stolen alien warship, but in reality is hollowed out and contains nothing - or so Jack thought.


Captain Jack is also to feature in the BBC Books spin off novel The Deviant Strain by Justin Richards, which has not yet been published. BBC Books is the book publishing division of BBC Worldwide, the commercial subsidiary of the British Broadcasting Corporation. ...

Jack grins at the officer and, speaking with an American accent, says that he has to meet a girl, but adds as he leaves that the officer has an excellent bottom as well.
Jack's voice tells her to deactivate her cellular phone and to keep her limbs inside the light field as she slides rapidly down the beam into Jack's ship and his arms.
The line from Captain Jack explaining the nanogenes was not audible in either the original or repeat broadcasts on CBC in Canada.
