They are nicknamed Los Rojos del Avila which could be translated as the "Red's from Avila" it is referred to their red jersey and the most important mountain in Caracas, The Avila mountain.

History

In the early 1980s, the team, named Yamaha at that time, played on several amateur championships with success, later in 1984 the team was renamed as Caracas-Yamaha and was introduced to the Venezuelan Professional Football League to participate in the Second Division Championship. Surprisingly the team obtained their ticket to the First Division after winning the Second Division Championship in their first season.
