Caribou County was formed on February 11, 1919, by the Idaho Legislature by a partition of Bannock County.
In the county the population was spread out with 31.70% under the age of 18, 8.20% from 18 to 24, 24.50% from 25 to 44, 22.00% from 45 to 64, and 13.60% who were 65 years of age or older.
