Carl August von Steinheil was a French physicist who is known for several different inventions. He is known for his work with the electric clock, telegraph device and optical instruments. His main item was a telescope that had silver mirrors on it. He created a telegraph machine in 1863 that recorded 6 words per minute. The device recorded words and sentences by using dots and dashes recorded on a paper with printer ink. While he was also interested in electric clocks, he invented his first one in 1839. He was a multi-inventor and also contributed to the work of telescopes. He and another man are responsible for putting the silver on astronomical mirrors. This happened in 1856. Also, in 1895, Steinheil developed a stetroscope. A physicist is a scientist trained in physics. ...
