The fame of this homage to martial arts films has overshadowed the rest of the singer's career, resulting in his appearance on cover versions of the song.
Douglas has made some side appearances in Konami's Bemani game series.

Well, when Carl Douglas took that song to the number-one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 and RandB/Black Singles Chart in 1974, he became the very first Jamaican artiste to score a number-one song on the Billboard chart.
Douglas cited a number of artistes who he said were responsible for the proliferation of Jamaican music in Europe during the 1970s.
Douglas is currently in discussions to have the song used in a movie that is being shot by a film crew from France.
