Carl Johann Maximowicz (1827 Tula - 1891 St Petersburg) was a Russian botanist.


Maximowicz studied at Dorpat. He worked at the St Petersburg Botanic Gardens from 1852, becoming Director in 1869. In 1854 he travelled with Leopold von Schrenck to the Amur, and visited Korea and Japan between 1859 and 1864.
