GateWorld - Interviews: The Journeyman (Carmen Argenziano - April 2006) (4358 words)
For more than six years actor Carmen Argenziano played a character who will doubtless go down in history as one of Stargate's most loved: Jacob Carter, Sam's hard-nosed military father who became one of Stargate Command's most important allies when he was joined with a Tok'ra symbiote, Selmak.
Carmen will be appearing at the Shore Leave 28 Convention in Hunt Valley, Maryland, July 7 to 9, 2006.
Carmen cites "The Tok'ra, Part 2," in which Jacob received his symbiote, as one of his favorite episodes of SG-1.
Carmen Interview (1693 words)
Carmen Argenziano says that the one thing that he spent a number of years in the role working on was how to bring forth the distinction between Jacob Carter and the symbiote Selmac.
Carmen Argenziano says that if he had been given the chance to come up with an arc for the character of Jacob/Selmac, he would have created one in which the character would have become more politically involved with the Tok'ra aspect.
Argenziano then lets us in on a possible spoiler for season 9 by saying that, upon seeing Amanda's distress over this issue of Argenziano's character being killed off, Peter Deluise told her that Jacob Carter probably would be back.
