Jackson represented Wiltshire from 1984 to 1994, Wiltshire North and Bath from 1994 to 1999 and now serves as an MEP for the South West of England. In the European Parliament, she has been a leading member of the Environment Committee and between 1999 and 2004 was Chairman of the Committee on the Environment, Consumer Protection and Public Health. She is a trustee of the National Energy Foundation.
Jackson has been described by Liberal Democrat MEP, Chris Davies, thus: "She's been here for ever: a bit 'jolly hockey sticks' but firm, fair and funny."

Dr CarolineJackson is senior lecturer in Archaeology.
Most of the research she undertakes is centred on studying materials scientifically and exploring their technology through the use of experimental archaeology in the field and in the laboratory.
Caroline is Course Director for the MSc Archaeomaterials.
