Dr. Carolyn Lam is a fictional character in the science fiction television series Stargate SG-1 played by Lexa Doig. She is Stargate Command's current chief medical officer and seemingly the first permanent one since the death of Dr. Janet Fraiser in 2004. She is also the daughter of the SGC's commanding officer, Major General Hank Landry. Background

Lexa Doig is the real-life wife of Michael Shanks who portrays Daniel Jackson on Stargate SG-1. They met while shooting for Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda, in the Season 1 episode "Star-Crossed", in which Shanks portrayed the A.I. of a vessel known as the Balance Of Judgement, who was the doomed love-interest of Doig's A.I. character, "Rommie." Lexa Doig first appears in Ep.2 of Season Nine of SG-1. She does not appear on screen during the early episodes of the 10th season of SG-1, but finally reprises her role in episode 17; "Talion". Her absence was due to the fact that Lexa and Michael's second child was born just before Season 10 was filmed.


Doig has not re-appeared as Lam in Stargate SG-1's final episodes of 2007.
