Carolyn Bosher Maloney (b. February 19, 1948) is a politician from the U.S. state of New York. She represents the New York 14th Congressional District in the House of Representatives.


Maloney was born in Greensboro, North Carolina and she graduated from Greensboro College. In 1970, she visited New York City and decided to reside there.


She was elected to the New York City Council in 1982 and served as a Councilmember for ten years.


In 1992, Maloney was elected to the House of Representatives as a Democrat, defeating a fourteen_year incumbent, Republican Representative Bill Green.


In Congress, Maloney serves on the Committee on Financial Services, the Committee on Government Reform and Oversight, and the Joint Economic Committee, and is the Chair of the Democratic Task Force on Homeland Security.
