Caron moved to New York in her teens after being approached by photographer Patsy Dunn and asked to take test photos for her portfolio. Patsy was so moved by the results that she sent them to the New York headquarters of Ford Models. This was the open door that lead to a whole new career for Caron in America where she represented South Africa for the agency's Supermodel of the World (contest) contest. Whilst there, she was introduced to legendary recording mogul Seymour Stein who tapped into Caron's childhood ambition of becoming a professional singer and signed her up to an album deal with his label Sire. However, this album was produced without a direction that really represented Caron, and was not released. Caron Bernstein was previously married to German musician and lead-guitarist for the bands Rammstein and "Emigrate", Richard Zven Kruspe. Richard and Caron were married on October 29, 1999 and believed to have divorced in 2005/06, after what Caron claimed "a 6-year marriage of psychological abuse and varying degrees of depression." [1] In May 2005 Caron began dating former New York radio show host Chris Booker. While vactioning in Cape Town, South Africa for the 2006 winter holidays, Chris proposed to Caron, although the week of March 18th, 2007, Booker announced the relationship ended due to "substance problems," although not defined.... truth is she cheated on him, and he caught them VERY red handed.
