Caron moved to New York in her teens after being approached by photographer Patsy Dunn and asked to take test photos for her portfolio. Patsy was so moved by the results that she sent them to the New York headquarters of Ford Models. This was the open door that lead to a whole new career for Caron in America where she represented South Africa for the agency's Supermodel of the World (contest) contest. Richard and Caron were married on October 29, 1999 and believed to have divorced in 2005/06, after what Caron claimed "a 6-year marriage of psychological abuse and varying degrees of depression." ^[1] In May 2005 Caron began dating former New York radio show host Chris Booker.
