It is located at the north of Ciudad de la Costa in the Canelones department, close and towards the east side of the capital city of Montevideo, which it serves. Ciudad de la Costa is the name of the city where the airport is located, which extends into eastern Montevideo .The Carrasco International Airport serves to more than 1.500.000 passengers each year, and for 2010 is projected to serve to more than 2.800.000 passengers.
