Cartel de Santa is a Mexican hip hop band from Santa Catarina, Nuevo León, Mexico.
Cartel de Santa is formed by Babo, who is the vocalist or better said in terms of hip hop "The MC" (master of ceremonies), and by Monoplug responsible for the sound and rhythms.
Cartel de Santa leaves it clear that through their verbigrace, they intend to "Eliminar" (Eliminate) who ever gets in their way, and in "Todas mueren por mi" and "Para aquí o para llevar", it is Daddy-B who takes charge of being erected as the champion with crown of the egocentric rhymes.
Latin rap is not a homogeneous musical style but rather a term that covers all hip hop music recorded by Latinos, as in Chicano rap, Reggaeton, Hip Hop Latino, and Hip Hop en Español.
Other early Puerto Rican rap pioneers from New York City include Rubie Dee and Prince Whipper Whip of the Fantastic Five, DJ Charlie Chase of the Cold Crush Brothers, Master OC and Devastating Tito of the Fearless Four.
Latin Rap (as well as its subgenre of Chicano Rap) has thrived along the West Coast, Southwest and Midwestern states with little promotion due to the large Latino populations of those regions.
