Organized in 1885, the Case Alumni Association [[1]] is the oldest independent alumni organization in the entire United States. Membership in the Association is conferred upon all graduates of the Case School of Applied Sciences, Case Institute of Technology, Case School of Engineering and the mathematics and science departments within the College of Arts and Sciences at Case Western Reserve University. Those who have attended any of the above institutions for at least one semester are also considered members of the Association. Furthermore, membership may additionally be extended to anyone who supports the Association's objectives.

Case was ranked #37 in the 2002 and 2003 US News rankings, and was ranked #35 in 2004 and 2005.
Case Western Reserve is a member of the University Athletic Association, which participates in the National Collegiate Athletic Association's (NCAA) Division III.
