Casino Royale is the only casino in Las Vegas that has 100 times odds on craps at all times. The minimum bet on Casino Royale's 100 times odds craps tables is usually two dollars (although it is raised to three dollars at busy times such as Super Bowl Weekend or New Year's). The craps tables usually close around 3AM. Although, at busy times they will keep a table open until around 6 or 7AM. The area that contains the craps tables, known as the "craps pit", is comprised of two standard sized tables that can accomdate EIGHT players per side, for a total of SIXTEEN players per table, and a small craps table, known as a tub. The minimum bet allowed on the tub is $1, however, unlike the larger tables which have 100 times odds, the tub only allows 10 times odds. Also, players at the tub can not stand, and are required to sit in one of the chairs that surround the tub. Casino Royale no longer offers standard blackjack, rather, Casino Royale now offers a trademarked version of blackjack known as "Blackjack Switch". The dealers are a little rougher than the fancy strip resorts but this makes for a much more enjoyable experience for the low roller post-college gambler. When a craps table gets hot, the tight quarters and free flowing drinks make for one of the best vegas experiences around.
History
The first building on this site was Frank Musso's Restaurant, located next door to the Sands Hotel Casino. Musso's was in business during the 1950's and 60's. Later it became Joey's New Yorker Night Club, then the Nob Hill Casino. The Nob Hill was opened in 1978 and closed in 1990. On January 1, 1992 it was reopened as Casino Royale. It purchased the adjacent Travelodge and used it as its hotel rooms. The Nob Hill was well known as lower limit and fun place to play and relax at a casino on the Strip in the 1980's. The Nob Hill featured .25 craps, and .10 roulette with a minimum $5.00 buy in, which was the lowest limit on the Las Vegas Strip.
