Cassadaga (a Seneca Indian word meaning "Water beneath the rocks") is a small unincorporated community located in Volusia County, Florida, just north of Deltona. Cassadaga got its start when the Southern Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp Meeting Association was founded by George P. Colby, a medium from Pike, New York, who attended summer "Camp meetings" at Lily Dale, New York (adjacent to Cassadaga, New York), subsequently moving to Florida. The Southern Cassadaga Association received its charter on 18 December 1894.
