Castell n (Spanish) or Castell (Catalan/Valencian) is a province in the northern part of the Valencian Country, Spain. It is bordered by the provinces of Valencia, Teruel, Tarragona, and the Mediterranean Sea.


Its capital is Castell n de la Plana (ca: Castell de la Plana). The province has a population of 501,237 (2002), of whom 30% reside in the capital.


It is a bilingual territory, with almost all inhabitants speaking Spanish, and very many also speaking the locally-official Valencian language.


Other major cities of the province include Vila-real (Spanish: Villarreal). There are 135 municipalities in Castell n; see List of municipalities in Castell n.
