Cathair Mor was a second-century Irishmonarch who ruled for only two or three years, principally by conducting bloody wars. He died in the battle of Moigh Acha, in Meath in 153. He is known for bequeathing two chess tables in his will, which he made just prior to the fatal battle.
Cathair was King of Leinster in the beginning of the 2nd century.
The second son of Cathair Mór was Daire.
1763, Ulster: Thomas O'Gorman, Esq., fourth in descent from Mahon O'Gorman, of Cahir-Morrughu, descended from Coiebha Mor O'Gorman, Chief of Clahanes and Monemore, co. Clare.
