Catmon is a municipality located in the province of Cebu in the Philippines. It is located 57 kilometers from the Cebu City next to the town of Carmen. It is composed of 27 barangays. Tore, Cebu's second highest peak, is located here situated in barangay Cambangkaya.


According to the old tales, people of Cambangkaya was part of the Datu Lapu_Lapu's tribes in Mactan island of the 16th century. They tried to avoid the Spaniards after the death of the chieftain of Mactan sometime in 1560.
