Catupecu Machu is an Argentine rock band, usually clasified as within Rock en Español. Rock is a form of popular music, usually featuring vocals (often with vocal harmony), electric guitars, and a strong back beat; other instruments, such as the saxophone, are common in some styles, however saxophones have been omitted from newer subgenres of rock music since the 90s. ... Founded in 1995, its current members are:

  • Fernando Rubens Ruíz Díaz: voices and guitar
  • Gabriel Ruíz Díaz: bass guitar and special effects (*)
  • Javier "Il Grosso" Herrlein: drums and acordeon
  • Macabre (Martín Gonzalez): keyboards and samplers

(*) On March 31, 2006 Gabriel Ruíz Díaz crashed his car against a tree; as he was not wearing a safety belt, he suffered severe head injuries and was hospitalized under intensive care [1]. Gabriel Ruiz Díaz, Catupecu´s bassist suffered terrible car crash on friday, March 31st 2006. He crashed against a tree and signpost, suffering very serious head injuries, including loss of encephalic mass. He has been hospitalized and operated on his head. He remains in the Intensive Care Unit.
