Cecil Griffiths from Neath, Wales made his only appearance at the Olympic Games, while running the opening leg in the British 4x400 m relay team at the Antwerp Olympics in 1920, which won the gold medal.
Griffiths won also the British AAA championships in 880 yd in 1923 and 1925.
Griffiths, in seconding, endorsed the Chairman’s remarks, and the motion was carried.— The Chairman then welcomed the new member, Dr. Collins, and that gentleman acknowledged the compliment.— Mr.
Griffiths said that they gave him credit for trying to be fair to everybody but he thought that in this case there were reasons why they should hold the matter over for the present.
Griffiths remarked that as one of the afflicted who would have to pay something to make against their own interest, he would support the amendment.
