Cecily von Ziegesar (born 16th January 1979) is a noted American writer. She is famous for her books geared towards teenagers.


Her first book was I Like it Like That.


It was her 2002 book, Gossip Girl, however, which brought her to the spotlight. The book, which proved to be a success, spoke about drugs, sex and alcohol among high class New York City teenagers.


In less than two years, von Ziegesar wrote five sequels to Gossip Girl.
