Cédrick Desjardins (nicknamed Cédrick The Entertainer) was drafted in 2002 by the Rimouski Océanic in the QMJHL, 200th overall. He started his career in the QMJHL in 2002-03 with the Océanic. In the off-season, Desjardins was traded to the Québec Remparts, as a 20-year old player, meaning it was his last year in the QMJHL. That season, he had had good moments along with bad ones. He led his team to the QMJHL finals against the Moncton Wildcats, where they lost the series 4-2, but they went to the Memorial Cup tournament. In the grand finals, again against the Wildcats, Desjardins had an impressive performance, blocking 46 of the 48 shots on him, helping the Remparts win the game 6-2 and the 2006 Memorial Cup.
