Centaurians

The Centaurians were first introduced in Mortal Kombat 3, where the centaur Motaro acted as the sub-boss. Motaro Motaro is a character in the Mortal Kombat fighting game series. ...

Ceutaurians are a native race in Outworld, known for their hunting skills and their ferocity. Their bodies resemble hybrids of humans, horses, bulls and rams. They have strong stallion-like lower bodies with long tails. Their upper bodies resemble that of humans with ram or bull-like horns and fins protruding from their elbows. They have been in war with the Shokan for several thousands of years; whatever fuel this conflict is unknown but it could be moral codes or honor, as both races are very proud and devoted. In the Mortal Kombat mythology, it is a race of half-human half-dragon warriors. ...

Known Centaurians

The only known Centaurian is Motaro. He was the leader of the elite extermination squads send by Shao Kahn to hunt and kill humans in Earthrealm. He was later slain by Sheeva. How, when and where they fought is unknown but Sheeva somewhat managed to kill him.

Centaurian Moves, and Fatalities

Apart from having immense psychical attributes, the Centaurians posess several powers that makes them dangerous foes.

Motaro displayed the ability to teleport at will, gaining an edge over his opponent. This comes in handy for a creaure of the size of Motaro, who needs more space to manouver than smaller, weaker opponents.

He could also raise his opponent with one hand and deliver a powerful punch, sending them flying and dealing massive damage.

The long tail served for two primary purposes: it could be used as a whip, delivering quick blows with incredible force. This attack was used very often due its quickness and range. The Centaurians could also channel energy on the tip of their tails to materialize deadly fireballs and project them on the opponent, with a devastating results.

On top of that, the Centaurians are impervious to range attacks, forcing their opponents to engage in melee combat, where they have the upper hand.

To finish their victims, they grab and rips their opponent's head off in one single movement. Motaro had this fatality in the N64 version of MK: Trilogy.

Centaurians vs Shokan

  • Although Centaurians have two arms and the Shokan four, they more than make up for this with their long tails. Also their upper body is muscular and well-built and their two arms are probably stronger than two Shokan arms.
  • In height the Shokan can be a little taller, reaching almost 2.5 mts, but the Centaurians are much heavier.
  • Centaurians can leap long distances and run very fast, something the Shokan can do but to a lesser extend.
  • Both races have displayed certain immunity to magic.
